1st Year of Ireland's Basic Income for the Arts pilot scheme shows positive impact. Artists are spending more time on their work, investing more money in it and reporting significantly greater levels of wellbeing, according to a review of the first year of the project published on Monday. The Basic Income for the Arts scheme, launched in 2022, pays eligible artists and creative arts workers €325 per week, and the pilot aims to inform future government policy on supporting Ireland's artists.
