1st time greater flamingo spotted in North China's Ulan Suhai Lake, increasing bird diversity.

A greater flamingo, normally found in tropical and subtropical areas, was spotted for the first time in North China's Ulan Suhai Lake, confirming an increase in bird diversity at the lake wetland. The lake, the largest in the Yellow River basin, plays a crucial role in water regulation, water purification, and flood prevention, and also acts as a natural barrier against sandstorms in cities like Beijing and Tianjin. The director of the Ulan Suhai Lake Nature Reserve has deployed staff to patrol key lake areas and prevent human disturbance.
