Singapore's HDB pilots "white flats" with open layouts in a Kallang-Whampoa BTO project.

The Housing Development Board (HDB) in Singapore is piloting "white flats", an open-concept layout without partitions or beams, in a Kallang-Whampoa Build-To-Order (BTO) project launching in October. The project near Lavender MRT station includes 80 three-room and 230 four-room flats. Homeowners can design their flats based on needs, and the concept was inspired by feedback from young Singaporeans.
