A sculpture of former GAA President Dr. Mick Loftus has been unveiled in his hometown of Crossmolina, Co. Mayo. Dr. Loftus, who passed away aged 93, served a three-year term (1985-88) as GAA President and was a lifelong advocate for well-being, campaigning against alcohol sponsorship in sport. GAA President Jarlath Burns praised Dr. Loftus for his inspirational impact on his own life and career.
