Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project completes a 394-meter undersea tunnel in 6 months; main tunnel construction ongoing.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project has completed the construction of a 394-meter-long undersea tunnel, known as the additionally driven intermediary tunnel (ADIT), in just six months. This tunnel will aid in the construction of the main tunnel, which is 21 km long, with the undersea tunnel being 7 km long. The project, costing Rs 1,08,000 crore, is expected to reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad and offer a viable alternative to road and air transport when completed in 2026.
