flag Journalist Lisa Wilkinson seeks over $1.8M from Network Ten for legal expenses in Bruce Lehrmann's failed defamation case.

Journalist Lisa Wilkinson is seeking Network Ten to pay more than $1.8 million to cover her legal expenses following Bruce Lehrmann's failed defamation case. Lehrmann, who was found by the Federal Court to have raped Brittany Higgins in March 2019, had sued for defamation over a February 2021 episode of The Project, in which Higgins shared her rape claims for the first time. As the losing party in the trial, Lehrmann is expected to contribute to the cost of running the trial, and Channel Ten has sent him a bill for $2.5 million.
