JBS Australia commissions $11.1m biogas project at Scone meatworks to reduce environmental impact.

JBS Australia, the country's largest meat processor, has commissioned an $11.1m project to run two abattoirs on biogas captured at the plants. The Scone meatworks in NSW Upper Hunter now uses methane and other greenhouse gases from its wastewater system as an alternative energy source to liquified natural gas (LNG). Similar projects are being planned for other abattoirs in JBS's processing network across Australia, aiming to reduce environmental impact.
