Former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha hopes BJP-led NDA will scrap the collegium system for judge appointments, citing limited opportunities for under-represented groups.

Former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha hopes the BJP-led NDA will attempt to scrap the "undemocratic" collegium system of appointing judges in higher judiciary upon their return to power. Kushwaha previously supported the National Judicial Appointments Commission Bill in 2014, which aimed to replace the collegium system.
