The Bank of Ghana has maintained its monetary policy rate at 29%, following the conclusion of its 118th scheduled meeting. Governor Dr. Ernest Addison cited elevated inflation due to exchange rate pressures and transportation fare adjustments as reasons for the decision, but expects inflation to remain within the 13-17% range by the end of the year. The committee aims to control prices and keep inflation stable.
