90-year-old resident saved from house fire by untrained Squamish carpenter, Chris Evans, receives national recognition.

A Squamish carpenter, Chris Evans, has received national recognition for saving a 90-year-old resident from a house fire in April. Evans noticed the fully engulfed house on his morning commute and, despite having no formal emergency services training, broke down the door to search for anyone inside. After sharing his story with the local media, the Squamish carpenter was named in the House of Commons in Ottawa by their local MP.
