SEA urges Indian government not to extend the export ban on de-oiled rice bran, currently prohibited since July 2023.
Edible oil industry body SEA requests the Indian government not to extend the ban on de-oiled rice bran exports, currently under prohibition. Initially banned in July 2023 for four months, the ban has been extended twice. De-oiled rice bran is a byproduct of rice milling, used as livestock feed, and India exports around 5-6 lakh tonnes, primarily to Asian countries.
