Rwanda launched its National Environment Week, focusing on community terracing activities to combat soil erosion, promote sustainable agriculture, and protect the environment. Residents from southern and western districts participated in terracing large tracts of farmland. Rwandan Minister of Environment Jeanne d'Arc Mujawamariya stressed the importance of controlling soil erosion to prevent land degradation, highlighting the need for collective efforts to restore degraded land due to unsustainable agriculture, deforestation, and mining.
