45-year-old Tucson man, Sherman Edward Lester Jr., has been sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for robbing a GECU bank in east El Paso in 2022. He will be released under probation for three years after serving his sentence. Lester was convicted of holding a handgun and wearing a tactical plate carrier, locking the bank doors with a bicycle lock, and demanding money from employees.
