Venezuela loses all its glaciers, including Humboldt Glacier/La Corona, affecting regional identity.
Venezuela has become the first Andean country to lose all its glaciers, with the International Climate and Cryosphere Initiative (ICCI) declaring the Humboldt Glacier, or La Corona, too small to be classified as a glacier. Glaciers in the region began disappearing in the 1970s, and now only their legacy remains.
