The US Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking public input on a proposed rule to designate 930 acres as critical habitat for the endangered Dixie Valley toad in Nevada. The toad, found only in Nevada and threatened by geothermal development, disease, and climate change, inhabits wetland and upland habitats fed by hot springs. The 60-day public comment period began on May 30.
