4 South-East Queensland councils raise infrastructure funding concerns amid population growth; Housing Minister Meaghan Scanlon commits $350m for "trunk infrastructure".

4 South-East Queensland councils facing population growth concerns raised a lack of infrastructure funding to the state government. Last week, Housing Minister Meaghan Scanlon committed an extra $350m to cover developers' costs for preparing new land blocks. The funding will provide for "trunk infrastructure" like roads, sewerage, parks, and bus stops, helping to alleviate the extra 500,000 vehicles a day on Ipswich region roads due to poor bus-rail links.
