Indian cinematographer Santosh Sivan received the Pierre Angenieux ExcelLens in Cinematography award, becoming the first Asian, at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
Indian cinematographer Santosh Sivan was awarded the prestigious Pierre Angenieux ExcelLens in Cinematography honour at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. Preity Zinta, who starred in Sivan's debut film 'Dil Se' in 1998, presented the award. Sivan became the first Asian to be given the accolade, named after the inventor of the zoom lens that revolutionised cinematography.
