An elderly man died in a house fire in south Minneapolis on Friday; cause under investigation.

An elderly man died in a house fire in south Minneapolis on Friday afternoon. Firefighters were called to a two-story home on 4800 block of 12th Avenue South where they found heavy smoke and had difficulty entering due to personal items and debris. The man was found on the first floor and declared dead at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
