China and Nepal have reopened their traditional border trade points, marking progress in bolstering bilateral economic and trade ties. The reopening ceremony occurred in Zhentang Township on the China-Nepal border in Xizang Autonomous Region, with trade activities also resuming at other traditional sites in nearby areas. In 2021, Xizang traded with 175 countries and regions, with imports and exports to Nepal, its largest trading partner, totaling approximately 2.77 billion yuan (US$389.5 million), a 77.2% increase year on year.
