Canada's border agency intelligence program, evaluated internally, requires improved training and data analysis tools to combat criminal activities such as firearms smuggling and human trafficking. Insufficient access to training, inadequate technology capacity, and data access issues have been identified. The CBSA is addressing these by enhancing partnerships for core training, reviewing a national training standard, and developing a multi-year digital roadmap to identify new technologies.
