A bat in Rhode Island's Roger Williams Park tested positive for rabies. Found near the carousel and Japanese Garden, the bat was discovered on the ground by a park visitor, euthanized, and later confirmed to have rabies. Health officials urged those who may have had direct contact with the bat to contact the Center for Acute Infectious Disease Epidemiology. Pet owners should also contact the department if their pets had contact with the bat.
