RCMP shot and killed a man in southern Manitoba after responding to reports of a suspicious person. Officers spotted the man assaulting a woman with an edged weapon inside a stopped vehicle. Despite orders to drop the weapon, the man approached officers, leading to one officer firing their firearm. The 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver suffered minor injuries.
