The US House of Representatives has advanced a defense spending bill containing a measure that would prohibit the use of Chinese-made lidar sensors in US military systems. Introduced by Rep. Elise Stefanik, the measure aims to stop US Defense Department purchases or use of Chinese-made lidar technology, widely used in autonomous vehicles and drones, to protect national security and boost American companies.
