University of Idaho receives $15m NSF grant for 6-year drought and fire impact study on forest ecosystems.

The University of Idaho received a $15m grant from NSF's Biology Integration Institutes to study drought and fire impacts on forest ecosystems over 6 years. The EMBER Institute project involves interdisciplinary researchers, explores forest resilience and organism interdependence, and collaborates with Coeur d'Alene Tribe and Bonneville Environmental Foundation for an Indigenous Innovation Lab for students.
