Spotify has announced the end of operations for its Car Thing device, rendering it useless by December 2024. The device, initially sold in 2021, faced stiff competition from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and failed to gain significant interest. Spotify has advised Car Thing owners to factory reset the device before disposing of it and has not specified what will happen to the device after it ceases to function.
