Northern Rail gate line workers from the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) Union plan to strike on May 24 and June 8 over pay and condition disparities. They claim to be paid less than directly employed staff and do not receive the same benefits. RMT general secretary Mick Lynch says the workers are treated as second-class employees and demand equal pay and conditions.
