8 new commuter rail stations will be built in Cork, with contracts awarded for their construction and the electrification of the Cork commuter rail network. Consultants TYPSA and Roughan O'Donovan have been appointed by Iarnród Éireann to oversee the work, which includes stations at Monard, Blackpool, Tivoli, Carrigtwohill West, Waterrock, Ballynoe, Blarney, and Dunkettle. The project is funded by the National Transport Authority under Project Ireland 2040 and is expected to be completed by 2030.
