The Kerala High Court has commuted the death sentence of Nino Mathew, one of the prime accused in the 2014 Attingal twin murder case, to life imprisonment without remission for 25 years. The court upheld the life sentence given to his accomplice Anu Shanthi. The couple was convicted for killing Shanthi's three-year-old daughter and mother-in-law and attempting to murder her husband in 2014.
