Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in downtown Madison suffered fire damage from a likely lightning strike on its steeple, reported during Friday's storms. Firefighters arrived at 11:21 a.m. and extinguished the fire at 12:29 p.m. No injuries were reported. The church, built in 1865, will suspend prayers and Sunday services until repairs can be made. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
