Dutch government plans to reduce night flights at Schiphol Airport to 27,000 by 2025, ban loud planes, and consider night closure.

The Dutch government plans to reduce night flights at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport to 27,000 by 2025 to combat noise pollution. The loudest planes, such as the Boeing 747-400, will be banned between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., and the aviation sector is being asked to replace some of their noisier aircraft with quieter ones. The government is also considering a complete or partial night closure of Schiphol, with the possibility of increasing flight movements by up to 17,500 per year.
