3,500-year-old Mycenaean armor found in Greece is proven suitable for active warfare in new study.

3,500-year-old Mycenaean armor found in Greece was suitable for active warfare, according to a new study by researchers from the University of Thessaly, Greece, and published in PLOS ONE. The research team conducted human experiments where Greek military volunteers wore replicas of the Dendra armor during extended simulations of the rigours of battle. The research helps provide new insights into warfare in the Late Bronze Age, and challenges previous assumptions that the armor was purely ceremonial.
