The US has no expectations for Australia to join a potential conflict despite "concerning" Chinese military drills near Taiwan, according to the US Indo-Pacific Command Deputy Commander, Lieutenant General Stephen Sklenka. He acknowledged the increasing possibility of conflict with China over Taiwan but emphasized that it is not inevitable. Sklenka said, "From the military perspective, there's no expectation of anybody part."
