Tesla begins constructing a 200,000 sqm Shanghai mega factory for Megapack production, a $203.94M investment.
Tesla has commenced construction on its Shanghai mega factory, producing Megapacks, energy-storage batteries. The 200,000 sqm factory, first of its kind outside the US and its second in Shanghai, has a total investment of 1.45 billion yuan ($203.94 million). It signifies Tesla's commitment to China's economy and will supply the global market with large-scale energy-storage batteries manufactured in China.
