The Supreme Court granted interim relief to former Tamil Nadu DGP Rajesh Das, exempting him from surrendering in a sexual harassment case where he was convicted by a trial court. A bench of Justices Bela M Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal issued a notice to the Tamil Nadu government, seeking its response by July 12. Das previously approached the Madras High Court for suspension of the sentence and exemption from surrendering, but his request was denied.
