Supreme Court of Ghana grants AG 7 days to respond to Imani Ghana's suit challenging President's authority to terminate security agency heads' appointments.
The Supreme Court of Ghana has granted the Attorney General seven days to file a statement of case in response to a suit filed by think tank Imani Ghana, challenging the President's authority to terminate or remove the appointments of heads of uniformed security agencies. The plaintiffs argue that the President can only terminate these appointments if there is proven misconduct or misbehavior. The case, which was called on May 23, is based on the interpretation of various articles of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
