239 people died on trollies at the overcrowded University Hospital Limerick (UHL) in the past five years, according to the hospital's chief executive, Colette Cowan. The figures were presented to members of the Regional Health Forum West following an inquest into the death of 16-year-old Aoife Johnston, who died of meningitis in the hospital's Emergency Department, which was described as a "death trap."
