Malcolm X, a human rights activist, became the first Black inductee in the Nebraska Hall of Fame.
Malcolm X, known for his human rights activism, was inducted as the 27th member of the Nebraska Hall of Fame. Born in Omaha, Malcolm X is the first Black person to be included in the hall since its creation in 1961. His bust, created by Lincoln sculptor Nathan Murray, was unveiled at the ceremony. Malcolm X's induction is significant as it helps tell the full story of the human rights leader for future Nebraskans.
