Kiran Rao's low-budget rural dramedy, Laapataa Ladies, has garnered more views on Netflix than Sandeep Reddy Vanga's big-budget action movie Animal, with 13.8 million views compared to Animal's 13.6 million. Despite Animal grossing over Rs 900 crore at the box office, Laapataa Ladies remained in Netflix's top 5 for a week longer and received praise from Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra.
