38% of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) graduates from the class of 2024 remain unplaced, according to RTI applications filed by an alumnus of IIT Kanpur. This job placement crisis has increased from 19% in 2022, affecting both the older nine IITs and newer 14 IITs. The placement season at IIT-Delhi concludes with around 400 students still without job placements, prompting the institute to appeal to its alumni for support.
