Canada Infrastructure Bank loans $75M to BC Ferries for zero-emission vessels and charging infrastructure.
The Canada Infrastructure Bank is lending $75M to British Columbia's ferry service to buy four zero-emission vessels and install electric charging infrastructure. The loan will help BC Ferries accelerate the electrification of its fleet, with terminal upgrades planned by 2027. The battery electric ferries will operate on small-volume and shorter routes, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 9,000 tonnes annually.
