New Orleans group Da Showstoppaz has sued Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Big Freedia for copyright infringement, claiming they used their 2002 song "Release a Wiggle" in Beyoncé's 2022 hit "Break My Soul" and Big Freedia's 2014 song "Explode" without permission. Da Showstoppaz alleges that key phrases, melody, and musical arrangement were used without credit, leading to financial and reputational damage.
