The Australian government has unveiled $63.8m in spending to help farmers reduce emissions, with almost half of the money set to support farmers in calculating their carbon footprint. The plan includes improving greenhouse gas accounting, training farmers and land managers, and supporting the new Zero Net Emissions Agriculture Cooperative Research Centre. The government has emphasized that agricultural decarbonisation will be achieved with producers, not imposed on the sector.
