Taranaki artist Maryanne Shearman won the 2024 Adam Portraiture Award, receiving a $20,000 cash prize for her portrait of Māori climate activist Tuhi-Ao Bailey. Selected from 451 entries and 37 finalists, her oil painting on canvas, Tuhi-Ao, captures Bailey in a moment of joy and character. The exhibition runs at the New Zealand Portrait Gallery Te Pūkenga Whakaata in Wellington and will tour nationally.
