37-year-old Vernon man, fired from a local business, assaulted his manager and threatened with a stolen knife. The altercation occurred on May 16 in the area of Vernon's north end Walmart. The manager escaped, and the suspect tried to flee in a taxi, but was refused service. He was later arrested, charged with assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a dangerous weapon.
