70-year-old British Olympic swimming champion David Wilkie, who won gold in the 200m breaststroke at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, has passed away after a fight with cancer. Born in Sri Lanka to Scottish parents, Wilkie also won two Olympic silver medals and three world titles. After retiring from swimming at 22, he later founded healthcare and pet food companies. He was awarded an MBE in 1977.
