Montgomery County Police veteran Marc Yamada has been nominated as the next police chief, replacing Marcus Jones who announced his retirement. Yamada, a 35-year veteran, would be the first Japanese American to serve as Montgomery County's police chief if confirmed by the council. County Executive Marc Elrich is scheduled to make the official announcement at a news conference.
