99% of telecom and IT professionals surveyed by Ciena in partnership with Censuswide expect to upgrade their fiber-optic networks to support more AI traffic, while 85% are confident in CSPs' ability to monetize AI traffic. Sectors with the most AI traffic and potential revenue opportunities include financial services (46%), media and entertainment (43%), and manufacturing (38%). The study also found that 50% of respondents believe AI can improve network operational efficiency by at least 40%.
