Tasmania's right-to-information regime faces challenges due to noncompliance and delays. A review by the state's Integrity Commission revealed cases where employees misled superiors about responding to RTI applications, resulting in some of the lowest rates of information release in the country. Commission chief Greg Melick said these deficiencies deny the public access to information they are legally entitled to and expose public authorities to potential misconduct risks.
