Mexican feminists are divided over the prospect of electing their country's first female president, with polls showing Claudia Sheinbaum of the ruling party leading the race with 56% support, followed by Xochitl Galvez from the main opposition party with 34%. The only male candidate, Jorge Alvarez Maynez, has just 10% support. Although Mexican women are gaining success in politics and business, many still face issues including gender-based murders, with around 10 women killed daily.
