2 shipping companies admitted guilt in US court for dumping oil-contaminated waste in the Atlantic, falsifying records, and pay a $2M fine.

Two shipping companies, Prive Overseas Marine LLC and Prive Shipping Denizcilik Ticaret, admitted guilt in a US federal court for dumping oil-contaminated waste into the Atlantic Ocean and falsifying the oil record book of their tanker, PS Dream. The companies will pay a $2 million fine and face four years of probation if the court accepts the plea. The master of the tanker, Abdurrahman Korkmaz, faces separate charges.
